Daan Boot is a PhD student at the Institute of Marine and Atmospheric research Utrecht (IMAU) affiliated to Utrecht University. She does research in the marine carbon cycle and the Earth's climate and feedbacks between the two. She has a degree in Hydraulic Engineering and in Climate Physics. She volunteers at a local Scouting group, first as a youth leader and now as a board member.
