About the event

Lecture for 13-18 yo

Is there life on a moon of Jupiter?

Jupiter’s moon Europa might be the best place to search for extraterrestrial life. That life might be found in an underground ocean, hidden underneath this moon's icy surface. In this talk I will explain how we know about the existence of the ocean and how new space missions could find traces of life.

About the speaker

Hans Huybrighs is a postdoctoral fellow at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. He studies Jupiter's moons Europa and Io. Before that, he was a research fellow at the European Space Agency. He did his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research and the Swedish Institute for Space Physics.
